Robins Pie & Mash in East Ham
|
The single most missed place around Upton Park to go to before kick off (along with Murkoffs in Canning Town whenever you had a sweet tooth)
Tried the one in Gallions reach a few weeks back and it just cannot compare to the original matchday experience of being in Robins
Well cooked pie with a slightly burnt yet soft crusty top that contained a nice thick juicy stream of mince, soft mash all topped with a layer of creamy liquor sauce (not fucking parsley)
Modern football is shit

Theres a Robins in Romford now. great pie and mash but expensive.
These days I go down Noted Pie and Mash between Maryland and Leytonstone: £5 for double double with licker. Cant beat that.

Is that a sick joke
Even BJ`s & the one next to Hatton`s (the phone shop, not the boxer) put Nathans to shame
Georges pie and mash is another one sorely missed. Massive Chelsea fan who followed them all over Europe, think its a breakfast cafe nowadays

Always thought they were missing a trick by not having a P&M van around the stadium on a match day
Would make a fucking fortune, the non locals especially would lap up the opportunity to pay silly money to tuck into something which is considered to be proper East end grub
